Define & Get Your Ideal Job
If you are unhappy in your job, don't despair as you now have an opportunity to finally clarify what the ideal job is for you. I can help you to do this by finding the answers to the following nine key questions:

1. What do you like to do at work?
2. What motivates you at work?
3. What do you really believe in?
4. How do you like to work?
5. How will your ideal job fit in with your other priorities in life?
6. Where and when will you work, and how much will you earn?
7. What skills do you have to offer?
8. What industry sector and job skills do you have to offer?
9. What type of organisation would suit you?

Once we've got this information, we can find and then get that ideal job by focusing on the following six key areas:

1. Identifying your strategic career choices
2. Creating a compelling personal positioning statement
3. Creating a great CV
4. Identifying the right, and often unadvertised, job opportunities for you
5. Developing your interview skills
6. Learning how to negotiate effectively before accepting your ideal job

Make Your Job Less Stressful
Many people fundamentally enjoy their work, but all too often it can become incredibly stressful and frustrating. There is an alternative to just putting up with the stress (and have it affect the rest of your life) or to take the big decision to change job. It takes a bit of work but it is certainly the most rewarding path to take. To make your job less stressful and more interesting, I can help you to answer the following four key questions:

1. What is really causing you stress?
Are you are having trouble working with difficult people or dealing with work politics, is your job just boring, or might the stress be a sign of other difficulties in your life.

2. How would you like things to be different?
You won't be happy in your job until you can clearly articulate how your job will be less stressful and frustrating. Which specific job tasks need to be different, and which interactions with colleagues, customers or suppliers need improving.

3. How do I make the changes to my job a reality?
Some of the changes you will be able to do yourself, and some of which you may need support from your boss to achieve. You may need to make structural changes to your job or you may need to make your job more interesting, for example by being given more responsibility, challenge, achievement or recognition.

4. What changes in myself can I make that will improve my situation?
It's not just what you do that makes a job enjoyable, it's also about how you go about doing it. To really be happy in your job, you will need to learn how to approach your job differently. Being more positive in your demeanour and outlook, being able to work more effectively with difficult colleagues and clients, communicating more clearly with colleagues, being a better team worker, improving your time management, preparation and prioritisation, and being more effective at delegating tasks can all make substantial improvements in how you feel about your job.
